If it’s your first time in Grado, these are the places we recommend you don’t miss.

This isn’t a ranking, but simply the places we recommend most often to our guests—because they’re our favourites too!

🌅 The Diga, perfect for a walk by the sea and for enjoying one of the island’s most beautiful sunsets.

🏛️ The historic centre, with its narrow streets, little squares and restaurants where you can taste delicious lagoon fish and, of course, the traditional boreto.

⛵ The harbour, the heart of life in Grado, where fishermen and boats meet, with plenty of picturesque views to photograph and bars where you can stop for an aperitif.

🌲 Grado Pineta, ideal if you’re looking for peace, nature and a beach surrounded by greenery.

💙 Our tip

If you only have one evening, choose the Diga at sunset. It’s one of those places that stays in your heart and tells the story of Grado better than any photograph.

You can eat well almost anywhere in Grado, but if you ask us for a recommendation, here are a few places we’re always happy to visit ourselves.

🍽️ For a taste of Grado’s traditional cuisine, choose Trattoria Vittoria. Here you can enjoy local dishes and, of course, boreto, prepared according to Grado tradition.

✨ For a special evening, we like to recommend Tavernetta all’Androna. Its historic-centre atmosphere, cuisine that combines tradition with a contemporary touch and excellent wine list make it perfect for a memorable dinner.

🌿 If you prefer to leave the town centre behind and enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere, Trattoria alla Buona Vite is one of our favourite recommendations. Surrounded by the greenery of Boscat, it serves seafood and meat dishes in a simple, authentic setting.

🥪 For a quick lunch, a gourmet open sandwich, a salad or an excellent sandwich, choose L’Ingordo. And if you love gin, you’ll also find a particularly interesting selection here.

🍸 To end the day, our favourite place is Seti Cafè. A carefully prepared cocktail, a quiet little square in the historic centre and just the right atmosphere for a relaxed end to the evening.

There’s no such thing as the best restaurant—only the right one for the kind of evening you have in mind: a romantic dinner, a traditional trattoria, an aperitif in the historic centre or a gourmet sandwich before a walk.

If you’re unsure, stop by our office. We’ll be happy to recommend the place that best suits your tastes and needs.

Grado is a destination that families choose again and again, summer after summer—and that’s no coincidence.

With its shallow, sandy seabed, our beach allows children to play safely while their parents can relax with greater peace of mind.

For many years, Grado has been awarded the Paediatricians’ Green Flag, a recognition given to seaside resorts considered particularly suitable for children thanks to the quality of their beaches, services and environment.

The climate also plays its part: the iodine-rich sea air and gentle breeze make Grado an ideal destination for anyone looking for a little extra well-being.

Between a day at the beach and a walk along the seafront, there are plenty of opportunities for fun: the Water Park, Parco del Drago in Parco delle Rose, the Pirate Playground in Grado Pineta and many other places where children can play freely.

🍼 An extra service: We know how much space a travel cot and high chair can take up in the car. If you need them, you can rent them directly from our agency and set off with one less thing to worry about.

💙 Our tip

If you’re travelling with young children, ask us for an apartment close to the beach. When booking your beach spot, remember to let us know if you’ll be bringing a pushchair. Whenever possible, we’ll reserve a beach umbrella near one of the boardwalks, making it even easier to reach the sea.

Four-legged friends are welcome in Grado too.

Long walks along the seafront, green spaces, dog-friendly restaurants and bars, and two dedicated beaches make the island a perfect destination for anyone who doesn’t want to leave their faithful travel companion behind.

🐾 Useful information

One dog is welcome in each of our apartments. If you have any particular requirements, please contact us before booking and we’ll do our best to find the most suitable option.

You can choose between Lido di Fido, located within the G.I.T. beach, and Spiaggia di Snoopy in Grado Pineta. Both are equipped for enjoying a day by the sea with your dog.

Many restaurants and bars also welcome dogs in their outdoor areas, making it easy to enjoy every moment of your holiday together.

💙 Our tip

Let us know that you’ll be travelling with your dog when you book. We’ll help you choose the most suitable apartment based on your dog’s size, its proximity to green spaces and the beach you would prefer to visit.

Even a day without sunshine can bring wonderful experiences. Sometimes, all you need to do is slow down to discover a different side of the island.

If the weather isn’t on your side, Grado still has plenty to offer. You can enjoy a few relaxing hours at the recently renovated Marine Thermal Baths or explore the island’s ancient history by visiting the National Archaeological Museum and the Treasury Museum of the Basilica of Sant’Eufemia.

If you feel like exploring the surrounding area, Aquileia—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—Trieste, Palmanova and many other towns and villages in Friuli Venezia Giulia are all within easy reach for a day trip.

💙 Our tip

Don’t rely solely on the morning forecast. The weather can change quickly in summer and, even after a few hours of rain, the sun often returns.

If the bad weather continues, stop by our office. We’ll be happy to recommend the excursion or activity best suited to the day.

There’s always something that makes a day in Grado special: concerts by the sea, shows, food and wine events, sporting events, markets, excursions and plenty of activities for families too.

During the summer, the calendar fills with events that have become annual traditions: the evocative Perdòn di Barbana on the first Sunday in July, the Sardelada, the Summer Carnival, concerts, shows, cultural events and the traditional Ferragosto fireworks display.
